Ferragut Pens New Ros Casares Deal

22.03.2007

Ros Casares forward Marina Ferragut has agreed a one-year contract extension with the club, keeping her at the Spanish giants until the end of the 2007-08 season.

The 35-year-old Spaniard becomes the latest player to commit herself to Ros Casares, following in the footsteps of DeLisha Milton, Elisa Aguilar, Margot Dydek and Laia Palau, who have all penned new deals recently.

“It gives me enormous pleasure to renew the contract of, without doubt, the best number four in Spain and one of the best in Europe,” said Ros Casares general manager Carme Lluveras.

“Marina Ferragut has contributed a lot for us and we can always count on her in the team.”

Ferragut said: “I feel proud to continue with the best team in Spain and to form part of a project as ambitious as this one.

“It is important that they want to continue with me because Valencia is  like my home. As well as that, we have a great team and I have high hopes of continuing to  contribute so that we have yet more success.”

Ros Casares recently qualified for the Euroleague Women Final Four for the first time in the club's history, where they will meet Bourges.

The Valencia-based side also won the Copa de la Reina earlier this year and they lead the Liga Femenina with 20 wins from 23 games.
