Israel are so confident after their 69-67 triumph over Ukraine that coach Eli Rabi is giving his players a chance to make it all the way to Turkey for the EuroBasket Women.
Their hopes looked bleak after Croatia beat them 74-66 in the opening game of the additional qualifying round in Group C for both sides, but Israel bounced back to win a thriller against the Ukrainians, a game in which they made 13 of 16 free throws.
Hosts Turkey were handed a difficult task at the Eurobasket Women 2005 draw held on Friday in Istanbul.
Turkey, who will be making their Eurobasket Women debut, are grouped with 2003 champions and Olympic bronze medalists Russia. They will also face 2003 bronze medalists Spain, 1997 champions Lithuania and Serbia & Montenegro.
