28 January 2005

Hosts Turkey were handed a difficult task at the Eurobasket Women 2005 draw held on Friday in Istanbul.

Turkey, who will be making their Eurobasket Women debut, are grouped with 2003 champions and Olympic bronze medalists Russia. They will also face 2003 bronze medalists Spain, 1997 champions Lithuania and Serbia & Montenegro.

07 September 2004

Hungary coach Laszlo Ratgeber is feeling the pressure.

Injuries have crippled the team with a little over 24 hours left before Hungary's tough opening European Championships qualifying match against 2001 champions France in Pecs.

23 August 2004

Krisztina Papp starred as the Hungarian women’s team clinched their second Horvath Judit Memorial tournament triumph in Pecs with a final victory over Serbia & Montenegro.

The tournament, named after the young Pecsi VSK playmaker who tragically died in 1997, began with an 88-54 win for Hungary over Romania on Friday.
