Arkadiusz Koniecki (Poland Coach):

First of all, I want to congratulate Lativa. We lost this match because of three important reasons. First, rebounds, fouls and they have lots of good shooters. We lost the game against a great team, congratulations. We have a player who plays in the WNBA (Margo Dydek) for a team which is trying to be the champion. If her team loses we can see her here.

Elzbieta Trzesniewska (Poland):

I am a bit angry and upset. We watched their matches from the video cassette and we thouugt that we could beat them. We prepared a lot for this championship and concentrated very much but  their well-directed shooting made us depressed. It was not a good beginning for us.

Raivo Otersons (Latvia Coach):

In the elimination groups matches, Poland exerted a lot of energy and it was a good opportunity for us. First matches are always hard. It was a good beginning, I am so happy. We have lots of injured players in our team but we have to win the matches without them and we did it at this match.  

Gunta Basko (Latvia):

I am very happy. We had a good preparation term we try to get all rebounds. We lost the ball more than we expected but we won the match.
