Montanana Boost For Ros Casares Against UMMC

02.12.2008

Ros Casares won't be at full strength when they host undefeated Russia powerhouse UMMC Ekaterinburg on Wednesday but at least Anna Montanana will play after recovering from the sprained ankle that saw her sit out the team's Liga Femenina victory over Mann Filter Zaragoza at the weekend.

Ros coach Isma Canto did not want to be without the Spain international, who had a season-high 15 points in the Spanish club's big win over USK Prague last week.

EuroBasket Women 2007 MVP Amaya Valdemoro and USA Olympic gold-medal winner DeLisha Milton-Jones are available to face Ekaterinburg although each is struggling with minor knocks while Brazil center Erika de Souza is still unavailable through injury.

"Ekaterinburg is the team that is at the best level in the EuroLeague," Canto said.

Ros Casares will be going up against a familiar face. One of the all-time Russia international greats, Elena Baranova, played for the Valencia club last season and is now on the books of Ekaterinburg.
